At PEWIC, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all participants. Since our community includes people from many different countries and backgrounds, we ask attendees to be respectful of cultural and language differences when preparing presentations, posters, and participating in discussions.

We are committed to bring inclusivity across all aspects of the conference. Everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, language, political beliefs, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, age, religion, or socioeconomic background has the right to participate in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, or intimidation.

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse or bullying
  • Unwanted physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual advances or remarks
  • Stalking or following someone
  • Disrupting talks or events
  • Promoting or encouraging any of the above

These standards apply in all conference spaces, both formal and informal including coffee breaks, meals, and social gatherings as well as in digital communications and online platforms.

Violations of this code may result in removal from the conference without a refund, at the discretion of the organizers.

If you witness or experience behavior that breaches this code, please report it to a member of the local PEWIC organizing team. You can also email us at [email protected] —this inbox will be monitored throughout the conference.
